Lee has been inundated with bait orders, which you would expect, but as much as bait demand is up, those going overseas were not as prevalent as with past seasons. So as much as this month has had it's ups and downs, it pretty much reflects everything that has happened in 2020 as a whole.
I started keeping track of captures each month from 2017 and for Jan, Feb of 2020 catches were well and truly up from previous years, in fact had we gone to the end of March and not been housebound from the 23rd we would have done O.K there to. As it was we beat 2017 and 2019 and caught a little over half of 2019 number with a rather impressive 65.
April 2020 was a right off and even with pretty much only half of May left to us we still managed a rather nice 71 captures passing the lowest figure from 2017 that being 48.
So back to June and again taking everything into account 108 captures isn't bad at all.
86 fish from mid to high doubles up to 19.17 with plenty of fish from a good 15lb up
We also reported on 20 20's which included 2 fish up to 27.11 which was a new Pb for our very own Stuart Petty and there was also another Pb for young Jake Funnell
And lastly we had 3 30's from Steven Burgess, Bob Sneddon and that big ghosty from Coston giving Wayne Williamson his Pb and the 6th Pb recorded so far this year.
The big hitters for this month bait wise have been #Beast, #BeastandStench #BNutta, the #CustomWafters and a few fish falling to the #OceanPRO. Of course these are just based on the baits being used by your good selves at any given time through the year.
So once again thank you one and all for your continued support and understanding through this unprecedented time.
Lets see what July brings
From everyone at BigFishBaits, keep safe and tight lines
Hello everyone and welcome to what would normally be a Round-Up for April, but lets face it, April never happened.
CV has had a knock on effect for everyone, lets not forget that and people have suffered in ways we can only imagine, but to want to get back to normal isn't being selfish, it's just inherent to who we are. People crave structure and a sense of normality, with the unknown comes anxiety and fear and being unable to escape that by whatever means, just piles on the pressure and it becomes a never ending circle, so to get out for a few hours regardless of what sport you take part in can only do you good.
The Angling Trust have asked for restrictions to be lifted for angling and have raised many good points as to why they should be. If you haven't done so already check out their website and look at the proposals they have put forward.
So this post is going to be different from the rest and will just serve as a reminder of Aprils past and what we have brought you through this month should you have missed it somewhere along the way.
We have a "Like and Share" post to WIN yourself 2.5kg of Ocean Protein, a NEW bait that someone will win well ahead of any release date and the draw for that will go ahead when restrictions are lifted.
We have a "Custom Wafter" now available as of yesterday the 28th of April. We are doing mixed pots of 15mm plain Wafters in Washed out Pink, White, Orange and light Brown which you can add our main bait flavours too or any of the others we have listed in the post, which you will find here to.
This was born from a poll taken from your good selves and implemented by Lee and thus far has proved super popular and have been put on site today April 30th.
Our situation maybe a bad one, we all want to get out there, the fish aren't going anywhere, so be patient and look after yourselves and those you love.
Here's to some good news soon.........
I think it's safe to say that this month has been hit hard in relation to the current situation we all find ourselves in, but we still had many good reports coming in before fishery's started to close their gates.
So the stats look like this, for the month of March captures were down, simple as. 65 captures against 2019's total of 102, but above the 54 caught in 2018, so again even in bad times we haven't seen a really bad decrease in captures over all, which is what you want to see.
But if that seems bad, there is a silver lining. The total caught for the year in 2019 to the end of March was 156 and this year it's 165, so down on the month, but up for the year so far.
This month was dominated by #MilkOne and #BNutta with the added additions of #SpicedNut and #Beast, but it was the aforementioned that took top slot with our bait users.
A good many of you were also going at it with the #PopUps too with flavours from the entire range, either fished over matching bait's or bait's of a completely different flavour.
We had 52 fish in the 10 to 19+ bracket, 11 twenty's to 27lb, one for Mark Spenton using #BNutta and another 27 for our very own Chris Clare on a #Beast #PopUp.
There was a Pb 30, a Common going 31lb for Danny Palgrave on #MilkOne and finally a 56lb Cat on #BNutta for Dan Green.
So all in all a pretty good month and start to the year given everything that has been thrown our way. So I'll round this up with a role call to those who had a few fish throughout March and I hope we will all be back on the bank soon enough .... Look after yourselves and each other

Monthly Round-Up for February 2020
January seemed to take forever and a day to get through and the shortest month is pretty much done and dusted.
And what a month it's been, 3 storms to contend with, either fishing or not and the weather in general has been all over the place. But it hasn't stopped those either brave or stupid enough to get out there and make it happen and make it happen you did.
As a rule February can be a funny month and since keeping records of fish captures over the past few years, it's easy to see it's either good or bad.
Well despite the weather having a big effect on the conditions out there, we recorded 36 captures which was a tad over double of last years total (17), 12 more than 2017 (24) and beat the total for 2018 (35). However I have seen a post on our main page which featured William Kelly who had 2 and Jonathan Sharp who had 6, Feb 22nd, so in essence we have passed the total for 2018 which brings the total to 44 for this month, another great result.
The baits doing it, #BNutta, #Beast #MilkOne and #SpicedNut as the main baits or feed and fished over the top with matching baits, matching #PopUps, which again seemed to be a Feb trend. But we also had the inclusion of #Stench #PopUps and #C4. A few also included the added attraction of #Hemp, #HempandCorn, #LiquidLiver and #Squilberry #Pellet.
Now I know we have a few in the pipe line to go up from Team Members, but again, it's not really about when the posts go in as we put them all together for the end of the year total, it's just nice to see each month improving with every passing year.
March is upon us and Spring is on the way, which will mean longer sessions and a more level playing field when it comes to the weather, but this is the U.K and anything is possible. March did a lot of fish last year so we wish you well for the coming month and thanks for keeping those reports coming in.
Ok lets have a quick name check, our fishing friends first.

Well it might be a few days early, but there is no real harm in putting out this report now as any fish that come our way will always get added to what has now become our running total that we have watched and reported on over the past 3 years.
All our past reports can be found on our website, guaranteed to have you out like a light if you have trouble sleeping.
And with each passing year we have beaten our totals which is always good to see and we can only hope that another productive year is on the cards.
Now to be honest I wasn't really sure how things were going to pan out for January, it's a funny time of year, the weather can play a big role in how things go lake side and again being honest coming of the back end of Christmas and New Year, funds can be a little thin on the ground.
But as it turns out a good few of you braved the elements and were rewarded with some good sport in some rather unfavourable conditions.
TOP BAITS ..... All our baits perform, it's really about who's using what and at this time of year and it's pretty much been #SpicedNut and #MilkOne, we have even had #Stench fished through broken ice on a lake in France and its still caught, so things are not always set in stone when it comes to bait at certain times of the year.
But this time out it's been our Winter Addition #BNutta taking centre stage, which is no real surprise as it is built on our #SpicedNut base mix with the spice element removed and a classic Banoffee Flavour Pack added in it's place.
So that and #SpicedNut was what was doing it for most as well as a bit of #MilkOne added to the mix on occasion.
All told 56 fish were caught this month
20 / in 2017
35 / in 2018
37 / in 2019, so once again a significant increase over the past 3 years.
46 feel into our 10 to 19lb bracket with fish up to 19lb.14oz
with a further 10 in the 20 to 29 section with fish up to 29.14 from our consultant Matthew Roberts and also our first Pb of the year went to Dan Green who caught a named fish called "Ruby" going 28.6 on #MilkOne from the Cobbleacre complex.
So a really good start to the year and the pace will only increase. If you haven't joined our page as yet then hop on board so you don't miss out on anything #BigFishBaits related. Thank you for you continued support of the products, tight lines and lets not forget to #LetTheBaitDoTheTalking
Now we have already shown just some of the fish that were sent in to us this year on our little look back video, we also of course have all the pictures in our Photo Section here, as well as the Overseas Captures to if you ever need to take a look at some of the fish that were caught this year.
So how did it go? .....well all things considered not to bad at all when you compare the numbers from previous years.
So the first number are the combined logged catches for both here and abroad and the last number is the total minus the overseas captures, so the U.K captures on their own.
2017 we had a capture total of 1039 / less Overseas = 776
2018 we had a capture total of 1271 / less Overseas = 1148
2019 we had a capture total of 1388 / less Overseas = 1114
So overall the number is up by 117, but down by 34 from the U.K total. Is that the end of the world?, god no, at the end of the day you also have to take into account that since we linked up with DreamCatcher Lakes in France supplying them with #Stench as a house bait, it was obvious that the French totals would rise dramatically from the year before
Now here we go with the weight breakdown and this to was a real eye opener.
I set the lowest weight at 7lb in our 7 to 19lb range but for the best part most fish average low to mid doubles and higher. We don't guess weights by the pictures you send in, it's all based on the info you send us, so if it's a mid double that's how it's logged, if it's 17b it goes into the same section, up to 19lb 15oz. If it was 20lb 1oz, then it goes into the 20+ section, i'm sure you get the jist.
7 to 19lb in 2018 was 862, this year 945
20 to 29lb in 2018 was 313, this year 315
30 to 39lb in 2018 was 78, this year 89
40 to 49lb in 2018 was 14, this year 30
50 to 59lb in 2018 was 3, this year 7
60 to 69lb in 2018 was the same this year with 1
and finally we logged a 70+ Cat in our last section. Without diving to deep into those we had 26 in all from the U.K from 51 up to the 70+ as already mentioned with the smallest being 14.1.
When it came to PB's this year we had 41, 30 of them from the U.K and 11 overseas. Last year I put the figures together as a whole but that aside we only recorded 23 PB's in 2018, so 18 more PB's broken this year.
In April we saw the launch of #Beast, on a Tuesday 260 days ago. And now here we are on New Years Eve, on a Tuesday telling you that it went on to account for 327 fish in that short space of time, the last recorded capture falling to Team Member Michael Peake in November.
And on the 8th of October we had our Winter Addition appear in the shape of #BNutta and even though it hadn't been on the scene long it still managed 63 captures in 85 days, produced 3 Pb's and that cracking Norfolk 40 going 40lb.7
Now a quick look at December which was a quite month all told, but till saw 9 20's caught to 27.3 and a couple of 30's to 31.3 caught by Craig Blanchflower on a mix of #Bnutta and #MilkOne, it was also a new Pb for him.
And talking of Pb's and this made the 30th for the yr, that was care of Daniel Newbold and his 20lb Mirror on #MilkOne.
So there you have it, all the facts and figures that made up 2019 and it was a good one.
All the baits performed above and beyond yet again, we saw new anglers joining us here at #Bigfishbaits after trying numerous other baits with little success, they made the switch and it all came good in the end with higher catch rates and new Pb's giving in some cases a much needed boost of confidence. And believe it or not bait can do that, at the very least it can help.
Lee Moore knows what he produces catches fish, but he still remains fairly understated when it comes to how well these baits perform. He prefers to #LetTheBaitDoTheTalking and to be honest it's a great way to do it. Some talk the talk and show very little in return, we hope that everything you see on our pages is informative and insightful.
There are things to look forward to in 2020 and you can be part of it if you wish, if your not already.
We have 2020 vision ..... make this your best year yet.
From Lee, The Team, to you and to yours, may you have a happy and healthy new year and tight lines in the season to come.
This is all relevant, if it's pant's out there the numbers will drop and catch reports will be a little less forthcoming and given that in 2018 the weather was a lot milder (November 1st 2018 we had highs of 16 / lows of 13, changing very little over the month, but by the end of the month those numbers changed to 11 and 9.
This November we have seen the same kind of start but mid way through the month temps had dropped to an average high of 8 to a low of 7 (midday) going down to lows of 2 and lower.
So in all a lot colder than last year, despite that deceptive sunshine, which may have swayed a few people from going out.
So we had 42 captures recorded this month against 54 in 2017 and 65 in 2018, coincidentally 2017 was around about the same temperature wise as this year, but again its not the weather that dominates how the bait performs but is relative to catch reports and who is braving the colder weather.
It was #BNutta that lead the way this month with an absolute flurry of fish, with a good many upper doubles and more notably a good head of 20's and 30's.
The mid range gave us 25 fish to 19.6, there were 12 20's to 28.4 and in the 30 bracket 5 fish to 38.8
Out of the 42 fish caught 23 were on the #BNutta
We also logged 3 Pb's two of which fell to #BNutta
Simon Roberts 34.8 Mirror
Lee Cawkwell's 30lb Common
And falling to a mix of #SpicedNut and #MilkOne, Bradley Cushing's 27.8 Common, very well done lads.
In addition to those we also had captures from Holly Flude, Karl Last, Scott MacGregor, Dan Roberts, Ash Cawkill, Alan Hills, Josh Rayman, Clive Copland,Jacob Isbill as well as two of the team, Dean Addison and Michael Peake.
Well done one and all and I can only say we hope to see some of you in our round up for December and indeed for the whole year.
#LetTheBaitDoTheTalking #Angling #Bait #Bigfish #Boilies #Carpangling #Carpbait #Carpfishing #Consistency #MilkOne #Stench #Squilberry #SpicedNut #Beast #BigFishBaits #SpiceUpYaLife #UnLeashTheBeast #TheBeastIsOutThere #BNutta
Now I love a bit of "Context" for me it makes everything just a little clearer and also shines a light on what is being achieved by the baits and those who use them.
We have logged 151 captures this month (October 2019) last year (2018) it was 122, the year before that (2017) we totalled 95.
So once again a nice little increase in captures for this particular month. And to be honest, out of the 10 months we have only fallen a little short in Feb, April and August.
The break down goes like this
10 to 19lb / 112 fish which included 2 fish almost pushing into the 20 bracket at 19.15
20 to 29 / we logged 27 captures up to 28 (which was also a NEW Pb )
30 to 39 / 5 in total here, 4 from over the pond up to 36 and a U.K 30 going 32.4
40 to 49 / Well I'm sure you read about the cracking Norfolk 40 going 40lb.7 on the #BNutta. That was one of 5, the other 4 from over the pond again up to 48.8 and that was another NEW Pb.
50 to 59 now and we logged one in this weight bracket form overseas and she went 51.12
And finally in our top end section, the 70lb bracket it was a 78+ Cat getting in on the action.
Bait wise it was all the usual suspects making it happen out there, #Beast, #SpicedNut, #MilkOne and of course the #BNutta which has really hit the ground running.
It has already taken 13 20's out of the 27 we wrote about earlier and of course that U.K 40. In total since it's release it has now got 29 fish under it's belt in 24 days.
Thanks again for your contributions to our pages and for your continued support and faith in the baits we produce 👍
So over the same period last year and the year before that 95 captures were reported on, this year it's 153.
We did have a few late entries from DreamCatchers of course, but we still managed to get past the 95 all be it by 4 captures, but again it goes to show that seasonally we hold our own and for the past 3 years the numbers have held a good average.
All the baits performing well #Beast, #StenchandBeast, #SpicedNut, #StenchMilkOne #Squilberry
So for this month we had the following caught, Barbel, Chub, Cat's as well as Carp in all shapes and sizes.
108 caught in our Mid to 19lb section with the biggest going 19lb
25 fish caught in our 20 to 29lb bracket, four of those were 29lbs (1UK), 3 from overseas with 3 others to 20lbs, also from over the pond with the remaining 19 fish caught in the UK to 28lbs.
Now to our 30's section, we had no less than 18 30's logged for this month. 2 to 38 (Overseas) and 1 coming in at 38.13 ( target fish UK) for our very own Michael Peake.
8 more also came from over the pond, leaving 7 caught in the UK, 3 of those were Cat's to 38lbs and 4 Carp going up to 36.12.
In the 40's section we had a Cat going 44 and finally in the 60lb bracket we had 60's going 61.14 and 65lb on the nose.
I know that's a nightmare to read, but I hope it all made sense
And we also had 4 PB's this month and I will put them up as we go through the roll call which we will start with the #TeamMembers this time round.
Michael Peake (Target Fish 38.13 #Stench) Dean Addison, Cliff Fiske, Chris Clare, Matthew Roberts, Stuart Petty, Matt Wood, Garrie Lee Fowler, Matt Witte
And now your good selves, our bait users
Aaron Topley, Harry Tucker, Lewis Brighton, Stu Bardon, John Covell. Shane Simper, Tom Raison, Mark Spenton, Scott McGregor, Justin James Gliding (Pb 30 #Beast) David Hunt (Pb 23.13 #Beast) Gary Mackney, The Bottomley Family, Mike and Nathan, Harry, Ricky, Ryan and Josh, The Rickwood Family, Shaun Williamson (Pb 30 #Beast), Joe James Saliba, Lee Carter (Pb 30 #Beast) Stephen Pratt, Carl Hales, Tim Trapnall and Darryl Andrews (Lake Record 65lbs)
Well done one and all some great angling, New Pb's and Lake Records have made this month one to remember.
]]>So August was a bitter sweet month. On one hand we didn't quite make it on the monthly total from last year, but we did get our 1000th capture in this month, ahead of 2017 and 2018's by a whole month yet again.
August was also another good month for Pb's to get broken, 6 altogether, 5 from the U.K and one from over the pond.
They were as follows ...... 28lb from Matt Wood, 31.6 from Alec Jordon, 33.12 Cliff Fiske, 37.8 Luke Roberts and Adam Ault with his Common going 29lbs
And our overseas Pb went to Karl Last and his French Common going 47...... which brings the total to 31 pbs this year so far ....20 in the U.K and 11 from overseas.
So those numbers above just go someway in making up the 109 fish caught this month, yes a little down on previous years but still good going never the less.
66 fish from a mid to hi doubles up to 19lb
24 fish in our 20+ bracket up to 29lbs
15 fish in our 30+ section with the biggest going 39.8 (Cat) and 37.8 (Carp)
3 fish fell into our 40+ section a 48.9 (Cat) a 47 French Common and a rather superb 45.10 UK Mirror
And lastly another big cat in the 50+ bracket at 51 on the nose.
So that's what came out and the main baits doing it for you guy's was #Beast.
Yet again this bait is proving to be unstoppable, but also #Stench #Squilberry #SpicedNut and #MilkOne also having a good shout too. And lets not forget as we move froward through the year tastes will change for not only you anglers, but the fish to, so be prepared to see a possible swing in what baits start to come out on top.
So to our roll call ...... and in no particular order, here are some of those who made August a good one.
Chris Clare, Dan, Andrew Funnell, Harry Tucker, Justin James Gilding, Andy Coe, Sophie Harvey John Conner, Matthew Roberts, Garrie Lee Fowler, Andy Stone, Craig Lathan, Matt Wood, Billy Fisher, Alec Jordon, Andrew Funnell, Jason Elvin, Kurt Durrant, Cliff Fiske,Tom Raison, Karl Last, Josph Harrison, Gary Mackney, Dean Addison, Joe James Saliba, Luke Roberts, Mark Spenton, Adam Ault, Kevin Rodwell and lastly Philip Peake and Michael Peake.
There you go another month done and dusted ....... Things will start to get interesting now as we head off into September and October ...... the cooler weather is more than likely on the way
Well done one and all ........ see you next month
#LetTheBaitDoTheTalking #Angling #Bait #Bigfish #Boilies #Carpangling #Carpbait #Carpfishing #Consistency #MilkOne #Stench #Squilberry #SpicedNut #Beast #BigFishBaits #SpiceUpYaLife #UnLeashTheBeast #TheBeastIsOutThere
A total of 158 fish were caught this month
128 fish to 19.5 / 26 Twenty's to 28lb / 3 Thirty's to 33.14 (2 from the UK and one from France and one French 40 on the nose.
The main bait through the month has been #Beast, yet again, with #Stenchdoing it's thing out on the DreamCatchers Complex in France.
The favourite combo's being used also reflect on the two big baits right now, #Beast and #Stench and #Beast with #Squilberry.
Once again every month changes and right now everyone seems to be on a #FishMeal vibe with #Glugged up bait's and #Pellet, with #SpicedNut and #MilkOne also being paired up with the aforementioned.
Keeping it sort and sweet this month there have also been 3 New Pb's and they fell to
Sarah Adams with her 18.5 Common on #Beast
Nick Parker had his 24.13 Common on #Beast
and Finally Aaron Topley's Mirror going 28lbs also on #Beast making that the 17th Pb so far this year.
And last but by no means least our roll call, a mention to all that sent in pictures and filled us in on their captures.
First up our fishing friends - Daniel Birrell - Andrew Funnell - Kurt Durrant - Scott Groom and friend - Sarah Adams and Barry Hindry - Lee, Warren, Goldie and Kelly (DreamCatchers) The lads that appeared in a DreamCatchers capture Video montage - The Binnersley family (DreamCatchers) - Ian McDermott - Carl Hales -

And now the #Team
Stuart Petty - Garrie Lee Fowler - Michael Peake - Chris Clare - Paul Pardon - Lee Moore - Dave Wolstenholme - Matt Wood - Luke Roberts - Dean Addison - Billy Fisher and Matthew Roberts.
Top draw once again one and all, great to see some absolute corkers coming in from everyone who are getting out and catching a few fish.
Here we are in August .............. What will happen, follow us and find out, better still grab some bait and feature this month ...............See you again at the end of August.
#LetTheBaitDoTheTalking #Angling #Bait #Bigfish #Boilies #Carpangling#Carpbait #Carpfishing #Consistency #MilkOne #Stench #Squilberry #SpicedNut #Beast #BigFishBaits #SpiceUpYaLife #UnLeashTheBeast #TheBeastIsOutThere
And now here are just some of the bait combos used in June.
#Stench was the front runner this month thanks to a big hit of fish at Dream Catchers.
Then it was #Beast ..... #Stench and #Beast ......#SpicedNut and #MilkOne ......#Beast and #SpicedNut...#Beast and #Squilberry, to name a few....honeslty the selection and combo's are always diverse, some even use all 5 baits on occasion.
I will do that Bait Breakdown next week at some point.
So those were the baits being used to account for June's 249 fish hit and believe me when I say that there are posts on other pages that don't even get close to the fish being caught here
So now to the anglers putting the fish on the mats and in front of the cameras are as follows.
Team Members - Matt Witte, (Owner) Lee Moore, Paul A Brown, Luke Roberts, Stuart Petty, Billy Fisher, (Consultant) Matthew Roberts, Garrie Lee Fowler, Dean Addison, Dave Wolstenholme and finally Michael Peake.
And now our angling friends - Gary, Rees,James and Adrian at Dream Catchers, Dan Roberts, Wayne Barrett, Carl Wigglesworth, Stephen Overy, Andre Bretts and Co,

Charlie Seaman's Dad, Daniel Birrell, Ross ( who fished with Stuart Petty), Jacob Isbill, Jake Robinson, Bill Gibbons, Justin James Gilding, Craig Lathan, Paul Reeve and last but by no means least - John Howe + Joe and Ralph.
Thank you you all for making June the best yet.
May our lines always be tight and lets all continue to #LetTheBaitDoTheTalking
]]>Monthly Round-Up for May 2019
Well where do you start for the month of May.
Well I'll start from the top and see how we go, I'll even try to keep this one short and sweet.
We have logged 191 captures this month against 169 last year.
That's made up of
114 low to high doubles to 19lb.12
40 Twenty's to 28.14 UK / 29lb France
21 Thirty's to 38 UK / 38 France
11 Forty's to 42.8 UK / 49.1 France
and finally 5 Fifty's all from France the Biggest going 54
So far this year there have been 15 pb's broken, 9 in the UK and 6 in France and 9 of those 15 have been broken this month alone, we will put the names to the numbers toward the end of this post.
Out of the 191 caught this month 134 fell to #Beast, again no real surprise there as most want to give our newest bait a go at their local water.
This doesn't include #Beast that has been used with any other bait's like #Stench, #Squilberry, #MilkOne or #SpicedNut
#SpicedNut had a good run with 20 captures, but as already stated a good deal of baits get used in combo's and all baits have been catching, but for this month those two have stuck out.
Again we can't stress enough that these numbers are always based on angler use and not one bait being any better than another.
There are just so many variables when it comers down to it and who uses what. I will endeavour to do a better break down on the baits in next months review.
And finally to our Roll Call and we will start with those Pb's I promised at the top of this post, they are from the following.
Ricky Mileham 25.4
James Geddes 37.5
Garrie Lee Fowler 48.8 French
Joe James Solba 41.8
Stuart Petty 44, 48.11, 54 French
Jonny Hazel 52 French
Lee Moore 53 French
And thanks to all those who made May a memorable one

And now to the baits that were doing it for our anglers.
The month started of with 15 captures gong to #MilkOne, 22 fell to the #SpicedNut, 4 on the #Tropical, 18 on #Stench and #Squilberry, 25 on #Stench.
Then we had #Beast with a massive 57 captures, which again was no surprise as most came after the launch date.
There was a many other captures bringing the total up to the 160 for the month on various baits including those mentioned under different combinations.
174 fish last April against 160 this year holding a good seasonal average and well over the 91 caught in 2017.
There have been so many great catches I will put up a special post tomorrow along with all the others that made their mark this month.
As always well done one and all and we will see what May has to bring.
If your new to our page, first of all welcome and just in case you haven't seen these before we do a round up at the end of each month just so you can see what's doing well out there among our angling friends based on all the catch reports we receive. So lets get to it.
What seemed to be a slow start to March became a totally different out come by the end of it. As well as a good few fish starting to grace unhooking mats March also saw one of our flagship baits, #Stench get taken on as a resident bait at the Dream Catchers Complex in France and now anglers who venture out there can use it with total confidence as the Carp now see this bait as a constant food source.
Meanwhile back in the U.K things were picking up, but very slowly, the weather was unsettled and temps were all over the place. But as things settled the reports started gaining momentum.
Now as you would expect the front runners on the bait front were #SpicedNut and #MilkOne, at this time of year they pretty much always are, even though they will still make a steady appearance through the year, either on their own or tagged with another bait in the range.
#Beast captures were still coming in, we expect a major jump in reports when it gets released in around 15 days time and you will also notice a big jump in #Stench and #Squilberry as a good many of you make that seasonal switch to fish meals or again just tag them with another of the other baits in the range.
So to the numbers.
In March 2017 we reported 72 captures. In March 2018 it was 54 (Given most lakes had lids on and snow covered a good deal of the country, it was a pretty good result) and this March, 2019, we have logged 102 captures.
And on the larger scale we are up for the first 3 months of 2019 with a total of 156 fish caught against 116 in 2017 and 120 in 2018.
The 102 captures for March were made up of the following
85 low to mid doubles up to 17lb 14oz, 15 / 20's two of which went 26lbs and one was a PB and another PB went at 21.8 ( we had a report where there were some 20's caught in a 9 fish session, but as I don't know the precise number I kept them in the mid double section. I will amend this if the exact number comes to light) and finally in the weights department 2 / 30's at 30lb on the nose for both.
With the baits it was the #SpicedNut and #MilkOne combo that lead the way, no surprise there, these are our winter baits after all, 39 captures for March, followed by 19 on the #TropicalMilkSpice and a further 25 to #SpicedNut.
#Beast was still doing it's thing with 7 more captures and a additional 7 when used with #MilkOne.
A few shout out's to some of you guys who made an impact on March.
Gary Blackwell with a 9 fish session, Jonathan Sharp with 19 fish caught, Matt Filby / Matthew Sones with a outrageous 30 fish lol and finally our very own Dave "Dovey" Wolstenholme who also had a 9 fish hit.
And talking of Team Members well done to the lads who caught over at Berners Hall on the 24 acre Res, Billy Fisher, Lee Moore, Dean Addison and Luke Roberts
Other Team Members who got a bend in the rod this month were, Matthew Roberts, Paul Parden and Garrie Lee Fowler
And thanks to these guys for sending in their pictures, Stephen Overy, Karl Last, Josh Rayman, Adam Topley, Matthew Hill, Kevin Humphrey, Alan Bell, Alan Drane, Craig Bardsley, Matt Filby, Matthew Sones, Jonathan Sharp, Archie Jones, Gary Blackwell and Steven Overy.
Thank you all for keeping us posted on your time bank side.
That's it for this month, tight lines to all when your out there from everyone here at #BigFishBaits

Spring has two dates, if your old school and follow the Gregorian calendar Spring begins on 1 March and lasts until 31 May, with summer starting on 1 June.
But seeing how we all now follow the meteorological method 2019 will see the spring equinox fall on Wednesday the 20th of March, which is its usual position, but it can fall anywhere between the 19th and 21st of March.
Anyway that's enough of that ....how was February ?

Well it was slow, there is no denying that, but again compared to most out there, we done pretty darn well.
I have noticed a good few fishing related sites re-purposing old pictures over and over again, which shows that despite the weather being one thousand times better than it was last year, things are taking time to get moving out there.
17 fish for this month, some 17 down on last yr and 7 off of 2017's total for the month, again it's all relative to the numbers of reports we get in, which in turn comes from those who are going out, but it's not how you start it's how you finish. And when you take into account that the total for the the yr so far in 2018 was 74, we are only 20 shy for the running total for 2019 with 54 and all that can change in no time at all.
#Beast and #MilkOne were the front runners bait wise, followed by #SpicedNut. It was also a good month for #PopUps and #Glugs being used with 7 fish being caught on a buoyant bait and 3 of the 7 were glugged with #Tropical and #MilkOne
13 fish fell in to our mid double bracket to 17lb which was caught by Consultant Chris Clare and we also had 4 20's to 29lbs which was caught by consultant Matthew Roberts on #Beast.
Thanks to the following .. 1st up the Team Members, Dave Wolstenholme, Matthew Roberts, Chris Clare, Stuart Petty and (Dean Addison - for last month).
And our angling friends, Karl Last, Harry Tucker, Craig Bardsley, Emma McCadden, Gary Mackney and Stephen Overy.
And also from last month Danny Palgrave, Alan Topley, Nathan Bull, Robert Hamilton, James Kohler, Paul Leaper, John Richardson, Alan Drane and Dan Roberts.
Well done one and all 🎣🎣🎣🎣
Roll on March #LetTheBaitDoTheTalking #Angling #Bait #Bigfish #Boilies#Carpangling #Carpbait #Carpfishing #Consistency
Yes its our very first look back over our first month of a brand new year and a brand new season.
And pretty much like last year the weather and Carp antics have been less than favourable, but it hasn't stopped a few of you getting into some fish.
As a reminder, all the information we put into these reports are relative and are a guide as to what baits are working for those out there using them. Some reports will show some baits more than others, but again this is purely because of what anglers are using at any given time through the season and in no way reflect on one bait working better than another. All the baits we do here have even surprised us at times with there ability to catch above and beyond even our expectations. So please just use this information as a guide, thank you.
With cold winds barring down on us and Carp doing what the Carp wanna do, it has been a little quite out there, but that's understandable and to be honest expected.
We had 23 captures this month with a further 14 which were added at the start of January, these came at the end of 2018, so in the interest of honesty and not giving out misleading info we will add the fish to our running total, but not to this months catch. Indecently out of those 14 fish, 13 were all in the 20lb bracket going up to a very impressive 37.4 all caught on our #SpicedNut #PopUps with help from John Richardson. And lets not forget Nathan Bull who had a hit with #Beast and #SpicedNut a Common that went 32.10
We also had another 3 20's this month one of which went 25+ caught by Robert Hamilton, this to was on #SpicedNut.
In fact the #SpicedNut has accounted for 12 captures, 3 on #SpicedNut and #MilkOne, 1 on #Beast and #SpicedNut, 5 on our #Tropical Mix, 1 on #MilkOne and 1 on #Stench (pop-up).
So things have started slow, 23 against 36 from 2018 down by 13, but still 6 up on 2017's January total of 17, but as we said earlier it's all relative and it's still early doors and tight lines are never that far away with #BigFishBaits.
#angling #bait #bigfish #boilies #carpangling #carpbait #carpfishing#consistency
2018 was on paper a fantastic year, the baits continued to serve all those who used them, bringing about NEW PB's and memorable sessions for all manor of reasons.
We had plenty of new users join us and they to made an impressive start on waters that haven't done them a lot of favours on other baits in the past, but is often the case something just clicks and all the bits fall into place and the fish start to be a little more of a familiar sight in the net.
In January we were under way despite -0 plus temperatures across the country, which became progressively worse as the days and weeks went by. But even that never stopped more fish being caught than the previous year. #MilkOne and #SpicedNut ran the gauntlet, with a fair number of fish going to both baits or a combination of the two.
6 twenty's to 22.5 and a highlight pb 35lb Mirror which fell to Richard Hammond on the already mentioned #SpicedNut
February saw “The Beast from the East” drop the temps right down and bring snow to most of the country, but if lids weren't on lakes and people could get out they did. February was once again dominated by #MilkOne and #SpicedNut, with the exception of some #Stench #PopUps used by Consultant Chris Claire, who was back in France hacking his way through the iced up lake just to get a rod in the water. Around 11+ fish, all in the 20+ bracket fell to Chris up to 29.14.
March also kept on producing the goods for many Mark and Gary Blackwell had two very prolific sessions a few weeks apart, the first producing 15 fish on #Squilberry and #Stench and another 11 during a second session. A lake record Bream fell to Chris Clare at 14lb.4oz and this month saw the first mention of the NEW “TestBait” ,as it was then, which of course we now know as #Beast. It was the first of many from Consultant Matthew Roberts. We also saw the emergence of our #BaitOils and #Liquids, #Pellet and powdered #BaitAdditive.
April was a full on onslaught of fish catching in comparison to the previous year, 94 in 2017, 174 in 2018. It was also a huge leap from the 54 in the month before, the fish were on it big time. The main taker #SpicedNut was killing it out there for us, the months catch report included 35 twenty's to 29.10 and 3 of those were PB's of 27.10, 21.8 and 22.4. There were also 6 thirty's to 36.4 and one of the 6 was a PB going 30.4 which fell to team member Luke Roberts on #Beast, also two of the 6 came from France at 36.4 and 34.8 long with two forty's from the same session that weighed in at 41, and 46.12. #Beast made it's presence felt with no less than 26 captures which included Luke's.
May was yet another triumph for #BigFishBaits users, #TeamMembers and #Consultants, with no less than 169 fish caught, against last years total of a mere 48 in 2017 over the same time period.
108 captures going to our bait user friends and 61 to Team Members.
May was another great month for PB's, one from Team Member Cliff Fiske with a Mirror at 33lb.8, Steve Cooper hit a 31 Mirror from Coston and back with the Team Members, Michael Peake had his long awaited 35lb Common. Consultant Chris Clare also had a 33 Mirror . We also had 12 French 30's from 30lbs to 39.8 thanks to Mark and Gary Blackwell again. #Beast had it's biggest capture so far for the year from Lee Moore with a Common going 31.8, that would be broken four months later.
#MilkOne and #SpicedNut were yet again the front runners for May, but a good few fish were also falling to #Squilberry and #Stench and all the associated add on's you can use with the bottom baits, like the #Wafters, #PopUps, #CSL, #LiquidLiver, #Krill as well as the #AdditivePowders, #Milk+ and #GLM.
June arrived and now “The Beast from the East” was truly a distant memory. Long warm lazy days didn't slow the fishing down a all, numbers wise it was almost the same as May +1. 170 were logged for this month and out of those 170 fish there have been 128 caught between our lowest set weight which we put at 7lbs to our highest at 19, which includes fish up to 19lb 15oz's. Now we jump to the 20 to 29lb bracket and there have been 34 fish caught up to 29.7 and this also included another PB this month of 23lbs for Todd Pitcher, which fell to Stench.
June also saw another 6 30's grace the mat to 39lbs. One of the 6 was a Cat and 3 came from France. There were 2 40's, once again 1 being a Cat at 45lbs and a French capture at 40lbs 8 for Matt Wood. And lastly two more Cat's going 50 and 52 for Paul Curtis on a mix of #SpicedNut and #Stench with the addition of some #LiquidLiver.
July saw the catch rate increasing against figures from last year, although down a little from the month before, but as always it was a step the right catching direction and we weren't catching any less. We were now also #MatchingTheHatch with our #CorkDust pop ups and #Wafters. Paul Pardon put these to the test and nailed no less than 17 fish on the #MilkOne and #SpicedNut versions with an added boost from the matching #Glug.
Also doing rather well over the pond in France was Gary Mackney with a 17 fish session, which included 7 20's, 7 30's a 40.2 and a couple doubles, 14 and 19, all on a mix of SpicedNut and Stench.
The #CorkDust #PopUps have accounted for 31 captures, either as a pop-up or as a surface bait, thanks to it's buoyancy and its attraction property's. It's also been used with our #BaitOils to cause an extra slick of attraction while surface fishing.
A #Stench and #SpicedNut combo has also accounted for 31 captures, a favourable combo this month without doubt.
The #TestBait made 30 Captures, 16 alongside #Stench, 5 with a #MilkOneand #SpicedNut Mix and 9 fished on it's own.
August and four more Pb's made there way into the catch reports. One 20 going 29.8 a Ghosty for Charlie Blake, Two 30's which went 31lb for Jay Harris and a Mirror coming in at 37.10 for Team Member Chris Clare, which I think was caught of the top with a match the hatch pop up if memory serves. There was also the biggest fish a U.K caught Carp, the biggest for us so far, a whopping 46.2 on the SpicedNut for April Chiverton. Notable catches were also made by Team Member Billy Fisher who had a great run of some 17 Carp using some of our Liquids and #Oils and #Beast. Team Member Cliff Fiske also racked up a nice tally of fish when making the most of the warm weather, Dog Biscuits coated in our #Liquid Krill was the order of the day. 18 fish fell to Carl Wigglesworth, a fantastic session using #Stench and matching pop-ups. All told those and all the other fish caught clocked up a rather impressive 157 against last years total of 119.
September was a month of overseas captures and with 2 months to go we has already beaten last years figure of 776 fish caught in 2017. That total from 2017 was 1,039, we took off the overseas captures to give us the (U.K captures of 776) as we wanted to see what our baits would do the following year.
We had 40 fish from Mid to high Doubles the biggest going 19.12 which featured in Joe Turell's report.
39 - 20's / 17 caught in France the biggest was from Carl Hales report which went 29
The other 22 were U.K captures the biggest here was caught by Stephen Pratt a Mirror at 29 also.
Into the 30's now and there were 11 30's caught in September with 9 coming from France again, the biggest again from Carl Hales at 38.
We had 2 U.K. 30's a 30.2 for Jason Bennett and one I'm sure you all read about Lee Moore's NEW UK PB Mirror at 36.9.
2 more 40's bang on the nose from Carl Hales again
1-50 from France care of Lewis Mower which went 54 and finally for the weights section Joe Turell's 60.2 Mirror also from overseas and our biggest Carp this year.
Now that little lot should add up to 95 captures for September, which coincidently was the same amount caught this time last year in 2017. We also had 4 PB's from Team Member Stuart Petty 26.2, Russell Clark's 24, Russell Humphrey's 26. And here is a final mention for Nathan Bull who took on the mighty Lake Bled and came away with 2 fish from this huge piece of water. They went 24lb and 40lb.8 a great achievement.
October - With temps going down the catches were still on the up 122 for October and still up on last year to.
There were 76 fish in our Low to 19lb range to 19.11
41 fish in the 20+ range to 29.4 including 2 new PB's which were 23.10 for Lian Green and23.6 for Ryan Grey.
And finally 4 30's to 31 which was also a new PB for Carl Hales, making 3 new PB's broken this month, 24 for the year so far.
And the baits that performed so well were #Beast with 22 on it's own with a further 9 with #SpicedNut and another 9 with #SpicedNut and #MilkOne.
18 went to #SpicedNut fished on it's own with 6 used with #Stench, 5 with #MilkOne
#MilkOne caught well again with 11, 13 more with the #Squilberry
The remaining 29 captures anglers used #Squilberry and a mix of all 4 baits.
November was already upon us, the year had seemed to fly by. 76 fish caught for this month, but again we were still catching more than the some 30+ fish from the previous year. By this time on our catch reports we had logged 846 low to 19lb fish caught by Team Members and our bait users, last year that number was 499. So as you can see by that figure alone more fish were coming out overall through the year.
49 fish from low double to 19lb's
23 fish from 20 to 29lb's
3 fish in the 30lb bracket, from France at 30 caught by Richard Floate and 38 from Consultant Matthew Roberts and finally a 38.8 from Kevin Dent
And lets not forget 1 fish coming in at 53.8 also caught by Kevin Dent during the same session.
The use of bait varied yet again, it always does but front runners in the usage stakes were #MilkOne and of course #SpicedNut.
#Beast is still holding good form with 12 captures this month.
#Squilberry had 6 captures with a further 10 coming when paired with #SpicedNut and not far behind with 11 was #Stench with 7 and 4 more paired with #MilkOne.
December in the grand scheme may have not been a busy one out there, but compared to some in stark comparison, we got fish on the scoreboard, which also included a 30 for Neil Williams on the good old #SpicedNut. There were also two 20's, one from Zac Howard and of course our Christmas Day cracker for Jonathan Grace going 23lbs.
17 other fish fell to #SpicedNut and #MilkOne with a few others on #Beast and #Tropical.
But when all is said and done we smashed last years total thanks to you and of course the team and here's how.

It as been an epic journey over the past 365 day's and all the numbers show that compared to last year. There has been a significant move forward in the amount of fish being caught on the baits and we have been happy to share it all with you as much as you have shared with us.
These are not bold claims, they are hard cold facts that show our baits do catch fish and not just because WE say so.
Info is key, well informed is to be well armed and we can hope that all the info we have given you over the past year may go some way in helping you decided if #BigFishBaits can be part of your angling in seasons to come.
We are already preparing for 2019 ...... we hope you will join us again ......... Tight Lines from all of us here and we will continue to #LetTheBaitDoTheTalking
Happy New Year
]]>Even now as I'm typing this, the sun is blasting through the window making it not feel like the end of November at all.
Of course with it getting dark really early now, even with the intervention of a bright sunny day, there is less time bank side and lets not forget a few do shut down for the winter months so the numbers reflect that, but we still manage to do a lot better than most.
A mere 76 fish caught this month, but sill up on last year by 11 fish.
14 of those were caught overseas (France)
There was also one new PB.
That figure of 76 breaks down like this
49 fish from low double to 19lb's
23 fish from 20 to 29lb's
3 fish in the 30lb bracket, 1 from the UK at 30 on the nose and 2 from France at 38 and 38.8
and Finally 1 fish coming in at 53.8 also from France.
Right it's time for the Roll Call ..... and we will start with the Team Members ..... Stuart Petty, Paul A Brown, Billy Fisher, Cliff Fiske, Chris Clare, Garrie Lee Fowler, Matthew Roberts, Dean Addison, Dave Wolstenholme and finally Matt Witte.
And now for our bait users for this month, they are,
Richard Floate, Paul Pardon, Leighton Ranauf Raul, Dale Payne and Son, Kevin Dent, Ryan Seeley, Patrick Foster, Paul Leaper, Gary Mackney, and Ricky Mileham (Congratulations) on the PB.
Well dangled one and all and thanks for the pictures you have sent in ....... much appropriated as always.
See you all next month and a few new faces to we hope
With temperatures dropping you would think it may well slow the fishing down, but the numbers of fish being caught don't reflect that.
September ended on 95 captures for the month but with the addition of 11 late entry's it would officially be 116.
These additional numbers are only the "abroad" catches which stands at 106 and will be subtracted from the final total at the end of the year (like last year) and which point we will have the definitive amount of U.K Carp caught this year. We have past that by a country mile already and from here on in I won't disclose that number and just give you the monthly figures, but I will tell you that last years end of the year total was 1,039, minus 261 fish caught abroad for a UK total of 776, which is like catching one fish ,everyday for 2 years, with an extra 40 for good measure.
So what was working well for our Angling Friends and Team Members alike, here is how it breaks down, U.K captures only.
The tally for October 2018 was 122 against 95 from this time last year.
There have been 76 fish in our Low to 19lb range to 19.11
41 fish in the 20+ range to 29.4 including 2 new PB's which were 23.10 and 23.6
And finally 4 30's to 31 which was also a new PB making 3 new PB's broken this month, 24 for the year so far.
The Baits
The bait being used varied as it always does.
21 fell to #Beast on it's own with a further 9 with #SpicedNut and another 9 with #SpicedNut and #MilkOne.
18 went to #SpicedNut fished on it's own with 6 used with #Stench, 5 with #MilkOne
#MilkOne caught well again with 11, 13 more with the #Squilberry
The remaining 29 captures anglers used #Squilberry, a mix of all 4 baits and #Stench.
Once again the figures around a particular bait don't reflect on the bait itself, but how and when it gets used by one or more anglers.
So that pretty much sums up this October and again it's a noticeable increase in captures from the previous year and that's what makes it worth while.
So to the roll call....... first up our angling friends who once again put their collective faith in our baits.
Liam Gowing, Nathan Bull, Ash Cawkill, Brandon Crawdron and Dylan, Steve Daymond, Andrew Jones,
Lain Green, Joe James Sliba, Aaron Topley and Friends, Gary mackney, Carl Hales, Ryan Gray, Gary Blackwell, Jason Elvin, Lenny Isaacs Mark Sedgwick, Harry Tucker, Archie Jones, Kevin Dent, David Herman Richard Herman, Leighton Ranauf Raul, Christian Lloyd, Stephen Pratt and Karl Last ............ well done lads 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
and finally our Team Members
Luke Roberts, Cliff Fiske, Chris Clare, Garrie Lee Fowler, Stuart Petty, Matt Witte, Dave Wolstenholme and a special mention to Paul A Brown and Dean Addison who have also caught and are awaiting their reports to go up ....... well done fella's
Who knows what November may bring ........ watch this space ...........#LetTheBaitDoTheTalking
To the numbers then.
30's a 30.2 for Jason Bennett and one I'm sure you have all read about Lee Moore's NEW UK PB at a very respectable 36.9.
2 more 40's bang on the nose from Carl Hales again
1-50 from France care of Lewis Mower which went 54 and finally for the weights section Joe Turell's 60.2 Mirror also from overseas.
Now that little lot should add up to 95 captures for September, which coincidently was the same amount caught this time last year in 2017.
We also had 4 PB's in this month which now makes 21 for the year so far.
Front runners for the baits being used the most in September are mainly combos:
#MilkOne and #Squilberry with 37 fish caught, 4 of the 37 with the inclusion of #Beast.
13 fell to a MilkOne and #SpicedNut combo.
8 for #Beast with an additional 4 when used with #MilkOne for a total of 12
13 fish also kept the tally going for #SpicedNut out on it's own.
And lastly #Stench had 10 out on its own, with 3 more alongside #Beast.
The remaining 5 using different combos of the above and 2 which Lee was using alongside #Beast .....see his report for details.
And that is pretty much that, as if that weren't enough.
Once again we hope you find this information informative and insightful. It is here so you can see the ever changing pattern in bait use from our Team Members and our Bait Users. We do know that a lot of you are reading these and our catch reports and acting on the info you get from them.
We will do our role call later today. And roll on October ....who knows what will be next !!
Thank you for making us your choice for the bait you use #LetTheBaitDoTheTalking
Lee Moore with his end of September U.K PB - 36.9
So lets start with the numbers and take a look at how many fish were caught this month.
The total for this month was 157 against last years total of 119. That number of 157 is made up of the following
124 – from Low Double to 19lb
27 – 20's to 29lb.7oz
5 – 30's to 37lb.10oz
and 1 40 which came in at 46lb.2.
Also in that little lot we had 4 new Pb's, they were 29.8 Charlie Blake – 31 Jay Harris- and the already mentioned 37.10 Team Member Chris Claire and the 46.2 also caught by a Team Member, April Chiverton, which is also our biggest U.K caught Carp to date, a pretty good month all told.
The main bulk of fish came from a different approach as most took full advantage of the warm weather and took fish off the surface with coated biscuits. The #Oils and #Liquids really doing the business, like #Hemp and #Krill.
Some 50 odd fish being caught this way as well as trimmed #CorkDustPopUps which were also used to great effect.
#Stench made 25 captures this month, used alongside other baits 15 times, for a total of 40 captures. These also included #Squilberry, #SpicedNut and #Beast which did another 7 which brings its total to 190 since March 27th
#SpicedNut alone did 27 fish, #Squilberry 4, #MilkOne 7.
Once again these numbers don't reflect on the bait, its just how much they get used from month to month by our customers and Team Members.
The last bulk of fish caught which should be around 22 were caught on other combos like #Squilberry and #MilkOne, #MilkOne and #SpicedNut, Squilberry and SpicedNut, there are so many combos to keep track of, but we do try and bring you as much info as possible.
To all those anglers who made August a great one for us and for themselves. It's not a competition just recognition for using our baits and getting your pictures in to us and being part of what we do here. And of course our Team Members to who get out there and do their thing their own way and also share their results.
The Roll Call ......... First up this time round The Team Members.
We start with April Chiverton who stole August, outstanding achievement, 2 fish to some 77lb and some change.
Chris Clare and his Pb of 37lb 10.
Wayne Reeve, Matthew Roberts, Garrie Lee Fowler, Matt Wood, Billy Fisher, Cliff Fiske, Luke Roberts who also took two 26's and a 30 and of course Lee Moore who had a 23+ from his new syndicate on the #Beast.
And now our bait using friends, who also did really well this month.
Jay Harris, Carl Hales, Mike Sykes Crane, Charlie Blake, Paul Pardon, Courtney Randell, Nathan Carper John, Lee Smith, Keith Howes, Jason Elvin, Ben and Tom Noughton, Carl Wigglesworth, David Herman, Gavin Ratcliff, Mark O Sullivan, Kevin Humphrey, Gary Mackney and finally Karl Last.
A good many of you including Team Members had some big hits on the Carp Front some outstanding results.
A special mention to Carl Wigglesworth who has been chipping away and it's paid off for him, well done.
But in our books everyone's a winner, good luck to all in September and lets continue to #LetTheBaitDoTheTalking
So ......how was July with a few days still to go ? ... Well we still have a few fish waiting in the wings and anything thing else Lee might have up his sleeve, so when all is said and done there have been 142 captures this month, with the chance of a few others I don't know about.
Last year that total was 107, so again we have seen a increase in catch rate, although we were down on last month and frankly given the weather I'm not surprised. And that's not because baits aren't performing during this hot spell, it's mainly because people aren't going out in it. Case and point, my last trip to Birds Green saw me on my own, with the whole lake to myself ....all day, now that's a first.
As you may or may not know we have also passed a pre-set target of 776 captures minus any French Captures by the end of the year. Well that is well and truly going to be beat and I think we will even go onto beat last years total, but all that is a way off yet.
So lets look at what has been caught for this month on our weight break down.
In our Mid Double Range there have been 85 fish caught this month to 19lbs 14oz and that was caught by Nathan Carper John which we posted back on the 12th of July.
In the 20lb Weight Range we have logged 31 this month with fish up to 28lb.8 caught by or very own April Chiverton, Micky Mann had a Mirror at 27lbs that was posted on the 24th and we also had a French Capture at 29lbs from Charlie Wilson
While we are in French mode we had a great report from Gary Mackney who had 7, 20+fish, 7, 30+plus fish, a 14 and a 19 and lets not forget the 40lb.2
That little run alone brought our 30's total for this month to 12 ..... the 1, 40 and we even had a 50, which was also from Charlie Wilson and happened to be a NEW Lake Record at 53lbs
That brings the total for the month to 130 with 12 fish waiting to go up making 142. That figure will undoubtedly change, so I will update that in next months Round Up ....... awesome.
Now what about the baits ? ..... Well this month the #CorkDust #PopUpshave accounted for 31 captures, either as a pop-up or as a surface bait, thanks to it's buoyancy and its attraction property's.
Again these figures reflect how these baits get used by individual anglers and these numbers can vary from month to month as our Customers and Team Members stick with a bait their happy with or some like to try something different. Last month it was a lot of MilkOne and SpicedNut, so tastes do change.
ROLL- CALL .....A mention to all who made July a great one ......First Up ..... Our Fishing Friends .....
Joseph Harrison, Toby Deus Smith, Levy Moon, Duncan Webster, Ricky White, Paul Parden, Mark Spenton, Mark Barnett, David Hurman, Jayden Seaman, Nathan Carper John, Jay Harris, Karl Last, Duane Porter, Charlie Wilson, Simon Cunningham, John Conlin, Paul Leaper, Dave Dickson,
Micky Mann, Ryan Gray, Gary Mackney and Paul Smith.
Team #BigFishBaits, Cliff Fiske, April Chiverton, Wayne Reeve, Billy Fisher, Paul A Brown, Garrie Lee Fowler, Chris Clare, Stuart Petty, Matthew Roberts, Mitch Cooke, Dave Wolstenholme, Dean Addison and last but by no means least Lee Moore.
Thank you one and all for making July another fantastic month.
#LetTheBaitDoTheTalking
So here come the numbers ( yep the boring bit ).
It's been 181 day's since we started this years log, 26 weeks.
For the same period last year the total was 421, which also included French Captures.
This year the total as of today's date June 30th 2018 we have logged 638 captures, which also includes French captures, that figure stands at 41.
For the month itself 85 fish were caught in June 2017 and this year, again over the same time period 170 fish have been logged from Customers and Team Members.
Out of those 170 fish there have been 128 fish caught between our lowest set weight which we put at 7lbs to our highest at 19, which includes fish up to 19lb 15oz's.
At which point we jump to the 20 to 29lb bracket and there have been 34 fish caught up to 29.7 and this also included another PB this month of 23lbs.
June also saw another 6 30's grace the mat to 39lbs. One of the 6 was a Cat and 3 came from France.
And lastly there were 2 40's, once again 1 being a Cat at 45lbs and a French capture at 40lbs 8.
The running total for 30's so far this year is 32 and 7 40's.
In regards to the #TestBait in total there have been 117 captures. This month alone there have been 54 captures and 6 of those from France.
All the other baits #Squilberry #Stench #MilkOne and #SpicedNut have all had there share of the action either being used on there own or tag teamed.
And finally we will just have a quick roll call for those who made June a wicked month.
Team Members Karl Chapman, Dean Addison, Cliff Fiske, Dave Wolstenholme, Wayne Reeve, Billy Fisher, Matthew Roberts, Garrie Lee Fowler, Luke Roberts, April Chiverton, Paul A Brown, Michael Peake, Stuart Petty, Matt Wood, Stuart Dack and finally, but by no means least Team Leader Lee Moore.
And now our Angling Friends.
Leighton Ranauf Raul, Kevin Humphrey, Paul Curtis, Charlie Seaman, Jay Coulson, Lewis Harmer, Darren Buck, Mark'O Sullivan, Gary Mackney, Paul Pardon, Duane Porter, Toby Ellis, Carl Hales, Paul Leaper, John Howe, Todd Pitcher, Harry Rambo, Stephen Pratt, Simon Wiepen, Karl Last, Carl Way, Karl Hales, Stephen Smith and David Martin Lewis.
OH AND ONE LAST THING ........ Just to let you know how things are going on an even bigger scale, last year we made a post on our 1000th capture for the year back on the 24th of November 2017. One section of that post stated we had caught 499 fish from "Low to 19lb" ......... It's the 1st of July tomorrow at we have already caught 462 in our 7 to 19lb section ................ food for thought
Outstanding as always, who knows what next month will bring..........#LetTheBaitDoTheTalking
There was also a U.K 40 to fall to the rods of Michael Peake and two 40's to Mark Blackwell and Gary Blackwell, who were also responsible for the 12 French 30's we mentioned a moment ago.
We have also had great catches coming in from Team Members Billy Fisher, Consultant Matthew Roberts and Wayne Reeve.
And lets not forget our friends out there who have also had some great success in May. Ian McDermott and Jody McDermott, Steve Cooper, Ricky Grimmer, Kevin Dent, Paul Pardon and Mark and Gary Blackwell. Needless to say, as we always do that this isn't a competition and everyone out there has been mentioned somewhere on our media sites and website, so congratulations to you all.
The #TestBait has been going great guns and has accounted for around some 80+ fish since we started to log it's progress back toward the end of March 2018. To date the biggest fish to fall to the #TestBait is a Common at 31.8 caught by our very own Lee Moore with 10 other fish in the 20lb bracket up to 25lb.7.
So all in all yet another fantastic month of great catches from everyone associated with the baits, either as a customer or Team Member, the results are there for all to see, long may it continue for all.
3 months ago it was hard to believe that fish were ever going to get caught. If you could get to a lake through the snow the chances are it had a lid on it, in some cases you were lucky to get out your front door, let alone down the road to go fishing.
Taking this into consideration it was a real surprise that fish were being caught and in greater numbers than the previous year. For example and my apologies if I'm covering old ground here but we had the following happen.
Jan 2017, 20 fish caught
Feb 2017, 24 fish caught
Mar 2017, 72 fish caught
April 2017, 91 fish caught
As you can see a nice progression in catches, all be it a huge jump from Feb to March. This was pretty much the picture for the whole year, catches went up and then eased down toward the end of the year, which again makes perfect sense and is to be expected
Then we entered into 2018 and even with snow covering the country, this happened
Jan 2018, 35 fish caught
Feb 2018, 35 fish caught
March 2018, 54 fish caught, given we still had some snow on the ground by mid March, the 18th to be precise, a lower number was to be expected for the month, but still good going never the less.
Now this is where it got really interesting. April last year saw the 91 captures, this year has seen no less than 174 fish caught, by team members and our faithful bait users, outstanding. But it gets even better. If you take the totals for all the fish caught in 2017 up to the end of May, yes that's right, May, you get a total of 255
The total for the amount of fish caught for the end of April 2018 is 298
So in short we have surpassed the total for the year already in April by 43 fish, before we have even got to the month of May....... incredible.
But what does it all mean ?. Well the introduction of #SpicedNut has played a major roll in captures as we have stated on numerous occasions and this bait along with our newer releases like the #Pellets, #LiquidFoods, #BaitOilsand #Powders have also had a dramatic effect on the amount of fish caught among our Team Members and fishing friends who use our baits. If I had kept a more detailed record last year I could have been more concise, but it's a huge difference compared to last year with multiple captures common place.
#SpicedNut alone in April caught 70 Carp, 34 of those with matching #PopUps, 4 with #CSL and #Milk+ powder, with 21 caught when used with #HempOil and 8 with #Krill and #Liver.
You could also a shift in baits being used in April as a good few moved over to fish meals as things started to warm up a little. #MilkOne was used along side #Stench, #Squilberry and of course #SpicedNut, it was a pairing that dominated April with 20 captures, 8 of those using #SpicedNut #PopUps and 2 more captures using #SpicedNut and #Squilberry. As we have said before we don't tell you how to fish and what bait combinations will work, we leave that up to you.
The #CSL Liquid has also been showing it's worth with 16 fish coming to baits either gluged in it or used in a mix of some kind. There has also been 6 fish coming to baits that have been used with #Milk+ and #GLM Powder as a coating on baits with #CSL. Again all these numbers don't reflect how our baits perform, it's all about who's doing what with what bait and how it works for those individuals.
The #TestBait has made a few appearances again during April, 24 fish caught on it, including a PB Common of 30lb.4. The #TestBait has also been used with #LiverLiquid and #SalmonOil to great effect. Of course this isn't available to your good selves as yet and it might be awhile before that is the case, but some of the Team have been using it and it's catching wherever they are taking it and I'm sure there will be many reports to come in the months ahead, this one is one to watch.
What's come out so far this year
So far this year there have been 44 20's caught in the UK up to 29.12 with four of those being 29lbs, four at 28lbs+ and the rest from 20 to 27lbs+
To that we can add a further 11 20's caught in France to 29.14.
We move up the board now to the 30's of which there have been 4 to 35.12 and two of those were PB's at 30lb.4 and 35lbs
Back to France where we had two 30's at 34.8 and 36.4 as well as two 40's at 41 and 46.12.
All the remaining fish caught since Jan 1st 2018 start from the lowest of 6lbs and go to 19lbs
So all told, even though we looked at what's happened so far this year April has been outstanding and we have plenty more in the tank. Who knows what May will bring, we will see at the end of that month.
I hope you found this information useful and informative.
From all the Team, tight Lines one and all and thank you for choosing and using #BigFishBaits

It's almost the bank holiday weekend and with that in mind I thought I would do this months round up a little earlier.
So where do I begin, we all know that March was an absolute dog on the weather front, but it never stopped a good few of you getting out once again and give the fish something to think about.
It was a month of ups and downs for us here at BigFishBaits, on the one hand we were down on fish caught for march from 72 in 2017 to 54 in 2018. It looks pants when you put it like that, but given most lakes were either frozen or snow stopped you guys getting out in the first place, overall, that is a dam good figure.
It makes better reading when you look it from a different angle, for the month it may well have been down, but from fish caught since Jan 1st 2018, we are up on last year with 120, against 116 for the same period, so although we are down for this particular month, overall we are up for the year so far, so well done one and all.
The start of the month saw Team Member Cliff Fiske continue his run of great catches with 3 more fish to 18lb.13oz using our #CSL #Liver and #HempOil to great effect along side #MilkOne and #SpicedNut.
Consultant Chris Clare also continued his great form with 3 more Carp to 21lb using a selection of our additives and #Stench #PopUps 15mm Yellow
Lee Moore kept his catch rate going with 2 mid doubles falling to #MilkOne and SpicedNut with a little added kick from #CSL #Liver and #Milk+
The same bait also aided Team Member Dean Addison with his 18lb Common in the middle of the month and finally for the team, Consultant Matthew Roberts nailed an absolute minter Common on a NEW #Testbait (The release video we have included in this months report).
Karl Last was back again with a mid double Mirror on #MilkOne, the same worked well for Adam Smith who took 3.
Then we started getting a little fishy as reports started coming in on captures to the #Stench and #Squilberry. Mark O Sullivan had 4 using #Stench and #SpicedNut, Dave Wolstenholm had 2 fish to 22lb 4oz on MilkOne and SpicedNut, with Paul Pardon off the mark with a lovely mid double on MilkOne too.
Again this isn't a competition it's a run down of the month and this month belongs to Mark Blackwell and brother Gary (and friend Dan ) who in just 2 trips nailed 27 Carp up to 17lb whilst using the Stench and Squilberry they got during our Spring Deal. A brilliant bit of angling from the lads there and well worth a mention for this round-up.
Indeed well done everyone who was mentioned for this month, it's been hard going out there and you all came up trumps.
#LetTheBaitDoTheTalking #TestBait #MonthlyRoundUp
You may well be thinking "hang on February isn't over yet" and of course you would be right. But with a day to go and given the current weather conditions out there I thought we may as well do it now, but of course we never really say never here when it comes to captures.
We had a total of 36 fish for this month and as already mentioned given the sporadic nature of the weather this was a outstanding result. 24 fish last year in much milder weather, even though it was cold and a 12 fish increase this year in temperatures as low as -4+, so a hell of a lot colder but more fish landed.
We started the month with David Hurman taking a 5 fish hit to our #SpicedNut and that was followed up by Joe Wones and his capture of a cracking 23lb Mirror also to the same bait.
Dan Roberts and Karl Last managed a couple each, Dan with #MilkOneand Karl on a mix of MilkOne and SpicedNut. And it was also the SpicedNut again that saw another of our angling friends Ricky White bag a 22lb+ Mirror at Coston.
The Team Members did really well to, captures came from Billy Fisher, Matt Witte, Dean Addison and Lee Moore who has been keeping his average well alive with a 4 fish hit. All the above caught using MilkOne, SpicedNut or a combo of both as well as matching #PopUps and some of the #NewProducts in some cases.
Now this isn't a competition and this is purely a look back over the past month, but this month belongs to one Team Member and that's Chris Clare. You have undoubtedly seen the report which was posted on the 18th of Feb, where Chris had no less than 12 Carp from the DreamCatcher Complex in France. He literally smashed the lake (Literally) so he could get lines into the water and even though the sun was shinning in some of his pictures it was still very very cold. 3 high doubles and 9 fish from 20lb.2oz to 29lb.14oz, one hell of a result. Chris fished a combo of MilkOne and NewProducts with most fish falling for the Yellow #Stench #PopUps and White #MilkOne #PopUps,outstanding bit of fishing.
So well done all that were mentioned in this months round-up and with Spring on the doorstep we can only hope things will pick up even more as we continue toward Summer.
